Mullin described Ryan Barnett as "sensational" in the Wrexham win thanks to the wing-back's enormous contributions that directly led to the one-sided score-line. His crossing was key.

With expert delivery from the right flank, Barnett had a direct role in all four of Wrexham's goals. His early cross was headed in by James McClean for the opener, while a similar ball into the box was cushioned by McClean into Jack Marriott's path for number two. The third goal was another Barnett cross, this time onto the head of Elliot Lee, while the fourth took a deflection but was still volleyed in by McClean. It's not the first time this season that Barnett has been the architect of a handsome win.

"What a day and performance that was. Ryan Barnett was sensational, [I] think that [was] maybe the best performance I’ve seen live," said Mullin, via Instagram stories, having come off the bench shortly after Wrexham went 4-1 up.

Results on Saturday cut the gap to League One leaders Birmingham to two points, albeit with Wrexham having played a game more. Upcoming fixtures against Rotherham and Huddersfield in the next couple of weks are favourable to keep the pressure on. First, however, is an EFL Trophy clash with Wolves Under-21s on Tuesday night.
