Philadelphia Union has announced the release of their 2025 away kit, officially named the “Voltage Kit.” The club is set to unveil this electrifying new design at a special launch event titled “Electrify the Night” on February 15th at Subaru Park. The event will celebrate both the kit and the city, and will also feature various electricity-themed activities as per the club’s statement.
“The ‘Voltage Kit' captures the electrifying bond between the Philadelphia Union and the city itself,” said Sam Leybman, Director of Marketing, Philadelphia Union. “It embodies the energy, passion, and unpredictability that define both the team and Philadelphia. Inspired by the raw power of lightning, the kit symbolizes the spark behind every goal, pass, and moment of brilliance. Its sharp lines and bold flashes echo both the speed of a lightning strike and the creative energy of Philadelphia.”

Created by Adidas, the "Voltage Kit" embodies Philadelphia Union's dynamic and fast pace football on the field as it features an electric blue base with vibrant yellow accents. The kit has intricate patterns resembling electrical currents, with UV-reactive elements that glow under special lighting. Not only that, it has the club’s coiled snake emblem on the chest and primary logo on the back of the kit.
Furthermore, the club announced that Thomas’ returns to the kit as their front-of-kit sponsor with their logo in the center. Their secondary sponsor, Independence Blue Cross (IBX), will be displayed on the right sleeve on both, the Union’s home and away kits alongside other special kits.

While they had a disappointing 2024 MLS season, finishing 12th in the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union made it to the Round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup and finished fourth in the Leagues Cup. However, they were thoroughly beaten by eventual champions Pachuca (6-0 on agg) in the former and lost to eventual champions Columbus Crew in the semifinals of the latter, before losing the third place playoff as well to Colorado Rapids. It does have fans slightly concerned going into the 2025 season, especially as the club are yet to win a game in preseason.
They’ve played two games so far, losing both, and next face CF Montreal in their final preseason fixture before the Union kick off their 2025 MLS season against Orlando City.
